Multi-factor Authentication (MFA) Initial Setup

Options on how to set up multi-factor authentication (MFA) to log into Lighthouse.

Register your account
- Click Confirm & Register within the activation email invite
- Create a Lighthouse password, then click SUBMIT
Initial setup options
After your initial login with MFA, you will be prompted to download the Auth0 Guardian app.
Follow the directions below for your preferred option on your mobile device.

MFA using Auth0 Guardian
- Download the Auth0Guardian app to your mobile device
- Once installed, click Continue
- Click Add Account in the Guardian mobile app
- Scan the QR code on your computer screen using the Guardian mobile app on your phone
- If prompted, enter a one-time code, then click Continue
- If prompted to enter a passphrase, select a passphrase and record\remember it.

A recovery code will appear on your computer. Record this code in a safe location. This is an important step in the event you don’t have your mobile device and need to log in with a second factor.
- Click Continue to complete your setup
Future logins
After entering your password, you only need to click Allow in the Guardian app
MFA using Google Authenticator
- When prompted to download the Auth0 Guardian app, click Try another method
- Select Google Authenticator or similar

Install Google Authenticator on your mobile device
- Depending on your previous use of Google Authenticator, choose one of the following:
- If you are new to Google Administrator, click Scan a QR code to set up an account
- If you are already using Google Authenticator, click + to add an account, then click Scan a QR code
- Scan the QR Code on your computer screen using the Google Authenticator app
- If prompted, enter a one-time code, then click Continue

A recovery code will appear on your computer. Record this code in a safe location. This is an important step in the event you don’t have your mobile device and need to log in with a second factor.
- Click Continue to complete your setup
Future Logins
You will only need to enter a one-time code from Google Authenticator into the "Verify Your Identify" checkpoint window that appears on your computer
MFA using DUO
- When prompted to download the Auth0 Guardian app, click Try another method
- Select Google Authenticator or similar
- Install DUO Mobile on your mobile device
- Depending on your previous use of DUO, choose one of the following:
- If this is the first time you're setting up a DUO account, click Set up account, then click Use a QR code
- If you are using DUO already, click + to add an account and click Scan a QR code
- Scan the QR code that appears on your computer screen with the DUO app
- If prompted, enter a one-time code, then click Continue

Future Logins
You will only need to enter a one-time code from your DUO application into the "Verify Your Identify" checkpoint window that appears on your computer
MFA using SMS
- When prompted to download the Auth0 Guardian app, click Try another method
- Select SMS
- Enter the mobile number for the device, then click Continue
- Enter the 6-digit code sent to that mobile number

A recovery code will appear on your computer. Record this code in a safe location. This is an important step in the event you don’t have your mobile device and need to log in with a second factor.
- Click Continue to complete your setup
Future Logins
After the password is entered, a 6-digit code will be sent via SMS to your device. Enter the code to log in.
